Windows Live Update Problem

I just purchased the game through Steam. However, when I log into my live account in game it tells me there is an update available for Live. So I hit install and wait for it to finish downloading. Once it is complete, I exit out of the game and I see a windows installer pop up for a second or 2. Then it goes away. I start up the game again and go through the process all over again. I cant get this windows live update to install. Any help is highly appreciated.

I have tried that and it did not help.

Wow, finally got it working after hours of troubleshooting.

So it seemed to be a ownership/permissions error.

I went to C:\Users\XXXXXXX\AppData\Local\Microsoft\XLive\Upd ates\585207d1\Content.

Whenever I would try to install the XLiveUpdate.msi I was getting an error with reading it. So I took ownership and made sure the permissions were not set to read only.

Then doubleclicked the XLiveUpdate.msi and it finally installed with no errors. Started up the game again, and what do you know it worked!

Hope this helps some others with this frustrating problem.
