Games for Windows Live doesn't appear upon game launch and I cannot save my progress

So I have GfWL installed, but as the title says, it doesn't show up when I launch the game and any progress that I make disappears upon restart. Vista 32-bit. Bought the game on GamersGate.

Same here. I uninstalled the game from the first hard disc to move it to the second, cause it didn't have any space left. I made a backup of the save folder, installed the game, copied the save files, and when i entered the game, there were actually two problems. No Windows Live appeared and nothing was unlocked like it used to. So it doesn't read the save files either. Windows 7 x64 here.

Me too having the same problem. I upgraded my windows 7 64 bit edition to 8 64 bit pro edition. For some weird reason the GFWL pop out menu has vanished. It is so irritating not being able to save games!!!!

Having same problem with you. since upgraded to windows 8, cant get GFWL to pop up in any game that uses it. which means cant play both batman games. Ive tried reinstalling it and no luck. Hoping some one finds a fix soon, but would think some one would have found this problem in windows 8 beta.

Had this same problem(Using Windows 8 Pro). What I did was uninstalled the Windows Live Client. Clear any registry entry for the Windows Live client and re-install it again. After go to the game's installation directory and delete the xlive.dll file which is found in Binaries\Win32 folder. Start the game and you should see the Windows Live tab if you don't hit the Home button.

im having this problem with goty edition. Start the game but cant access live features as gfw doesn't start. Im on win 8

Hi guys. i'm having the same problem. I use window 7 32 bit. It all good until I defragment my C drive (for save game and GFWL). When i re-launch the game, the GFWL seems unable to appear upon launch, and when i tap home button, nothing appear. And so my save file can't load. I've already search in all type of forum but still unable to find the solutions (uninstall GFWL and batman AC and re-install back seems the same)

I'm also having this issue. However, it only happens after installing the latest update. It's irritating to say the least.

I'm running Windows 8 Pro 64-bit, but I also had this issue when I had Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit SP1 - after installing the update.

Same here, having the same problem as you. Since upgraded to windows 8 Pro 64 bit, cant get GFWL to pop up in Arkham City. I've tried reinstalling the game and no luck.

Same problem. Upgraded from Vista U64 to win8 Pro 64. No GFWL after game update. Downloaded BACTU1 update and ran it and can get GWFL bar but no online account works. Was able to setup offline account and run program with saves but lost completed part of game. Tried repair and new install of game and GFWL and had no luck. Can log into my xboxlive account and see account status. Tried new install on Win 7 machine and got to online sign-in but couldn't download a save game so going to have to start game over. Makes we wish I hadn't upgraded. Hope someone else finds a solution.

Update 1/14/2013:

Finished game offline and decided to try to fix problem. signed on to GWFL with online account and ran update. After update could not access GWFL in game. Ran BACT 1 update did not fix this time. Ran Repair of BAC. Copied xlive.dll and 4 associated files from sysWOW64 to system 32. No joy. Copied same files to Batman Win32 directory.
No change. Deleted xlive.dll and accompanying xlive security catalog. from win 32. GFWL showed up but did not work the next time. Thinking this might be the key I deleted the xlive.dll and catalog in all three directories. Game would not start no xlive.dll. Tried adding it back to sytem 32. no xlive.dll. Added it back to SysWOW64 and game started could see my online account. Was also able to sign in to an online account without an auto update. Have restarted a couple of times and both offline and online accounts are selectable. Have no explation for why this worked but easy to do.
