fighting and gadgets = arkham city
both of the story are good and both should be longer
the dark theme of the asylum and the serious look of batman in the asylum are better

"Why so serious ?" _ Heath "The Joker" Ledger

I know many will hate me, but like most of the Asylum.
First, because the climate of the Asylum is darker, I feel a dark atmosphere of insanity.
Arkham City was already lighter, I loved exploring the city and the sidequests, but without a dark atmosphere.
I'd love if Arkham 3 could balance the two points, dark atmosphere and open-world exploration.

Well, I love the two games, of course, but in story and atmosphere, Arkham Asylum wins.
In graphic and gameplay Arkham City wins.

The only thing I believe Asylum had over City was the theme of fear. I think City plays more like a comic book.

To me Asylum was the ultimate Batman experiences. Sure, City was great, but only in terms of gameplay. Let's face it, Batman's not as serious as he was from Asylum, this sounds silly but his face and sound isn't as good as it was from Asylum, Asylum's Batman was the darkest you could get, it's theme was perfect, walking in a dark corridor, and BAM, Scarecrow's screwing with you. Asylum gave every villain it's fair screen time, and not just that, but they were all perfect, except for Bane, although I kind of liked his monstrous persona, City's villains barely get screen time, even Joker, Asylum was better in everything than city except for the following: New gliding and gameplay. Even Riddler, he was portrayed as a whiny little b****, In Asylum he was calm and intelligent.
