I apologize to the OP for Forum Batman here (long story short, he believes he is the Forum Batman) attempting to completely derail the thread. Hope you don't mind.

The only one derailing the thread is you, you are bringing attention to yourself about me. Talking about the product my friends uses and kept pestering me about it. The forum Batman is not a mere title but a symbol against trolls. Understand that.
I apologize to the OP for helping, even though it was appreciated. Clearly I cannot be of any help if The great Red Robin doesn't approve of it.
"People think it's an obsession. A compulsion. As if there were an irresistible impulse to act. It's never been like that. I chose this life. I know what I'm doing. And on any given day, I could stop doing it. Today, however, isn't that day. And tomorrow won't be either" ~ Batman
The difference is that you were feeding the OP false information by suggesting that there was official support for PS3 controllers on PCs.
For all you know somebody could have spent all night looking for it because they wanted to use their Dualshock3 controller on their PC so badly...
Apologies, I wasn't aware that making stuff up or telling people something exists and then leaving everybody hanging by not showing it to the rest of us is considered helping. Your helping is very appreciated.

I did recommend the 306 controller. Non of my information was false, if a product is its own then it is official to its name.
Not sure if this is what my friend uses but this is just one of the different softwares.

Or he could buy one of these (this is not an advertisement)

Quantifiable information after only 23 hours! Very prompt! Still a dubious definition of "official" though. Let me help you out.
Official (adjective): Issued or used authoritatively.

You heard it yourself from the Official Forum Batman, folks. Official PS3 controller drivers for the PC are available for download from that official site he linked to. All official. In the meantime, you can also get more news on the game from the Official Arkham City Forums at arkhamcity.co.uk.
C'mon, just admit that you were wrong about it being official. Of all the things you could have contested you managed to make the worst possible choice.

To be quite honest, for the price of a receiver you can just buy a wired 360 controller. The advantage of the wired controller is that it does not need batteries and will not run out of power during play. I have 2, one for my desktop and one for my laptop and i have been very happy with them. Also if your running Windows Vista or above the controllers are plug and play, no extra software needed and they are every bit as durable as the wireless controllers.
That is definitely true. Travelling a lot, I have a wired controller for my laptop to cut down on costs.
That said, since the OP already has an Xbox and wireless controllers, a receiver for home use would probably be a better investment.
