What are those wonders exactly? Does that mean that now smoke doesn't halves my fps? Or that I can turn off smoke effects because I don't like them? Or I can play Alice Madness Returns without major stuttering and slowdowns? If so I'll give it a go, otherwise no thanks.

It was impressive enough that i've now shared this link in two forums, it's the first time i've ever come across a link to PhysX software, it's probably gonna be included in next driver release laters this month.
But yeah try it if you want, you'll be using it soon anyways if you keep your drivers updated.
It helps with minimum frame rates.

People say this give a little fps boost and that's a good thing but my main problem with PhysX is that you can't configure the individual effects.

I like particle effects and stuff like that but I hate the smoke effects, they just seem like an afterthought in game design and those things make the experience inconsistent for me: for example it's totally unrealistic for a courtroom to be full of smoke and also there is no smoke in the pre-rendered cutscenes there so it's just not part of the game, and those things break immersion and game design. Another thing is that smoke effects are not really optimised, they can really affect my fps as I only have one GTX 560 and prefer to play games on 60 fps.

So to me the ideal thing would be to turn off smoke and only use some particle effects (but not on "High" settings as that again gives you an unrealistic amount of debris, paper or money bills ).

    Open up bmengine.ini, find >>

    [SystemSettings]
FogVolumes=True, then change it to FogVolumes=False, then set bmengine.ini to 'read only' and try that.

Hi SLI-756 tried the Physx update and you werent kidding when u said that it works wonders.

Just ran the benchmark and in the room of the penguin my fps would touch 28fps for a second and my gpu utilization would be around 30/45%.

With the updated Physx gpu utilization is around 50/60% and fps between 40/60 in the same room so def a nice boost!.

Getting an average framerate of 73 now game totally maxed out using FXAA not MSAA.

So I hope they keep those Physx updates coming :-).
