PS3 update 1.04 won't install

Hello, would love some help with this. Never had any problems with the game, until now. Obviously once I put the game in I was prompted to update the game with the latest software. Update ran fine and just as quick as I'd have expected but once the update was installed it switched to installing required game data (something which, personally, I've never seen before) that also seemed to be going okay and quickly got up to 100% and I was just waiting a few more minutes for it to be finalised however 2 hours and a frozen PS3 console later I was left disappointed to say the least. Since then I've had to delete all my game data and keep getting the same problem. I can't even get on the game that I paid good money for simply because the game has been "updated" to prevent "glitches" that I never encountered or had trouble with. Lost all patience with this now and would like to know how to fix this without having to back up my system and go through the whole process of re-installing and restoring everything. After all I have paid for the game.....

If this helps:

#1. Go to setting, then go to system.
#2. Then go to storage(memory), and choose your storage device.
#3. Once there try to find something that is similar to something like "deletion suggestions."

From here it should show updates and other things not needed on your console. If you find the update, you can delete it and re-install it. I hope this helps, because I went by what I've seen on the PS3 and my Xbox 360.

You'd only have to uninstall and reinstall the Game Data for Arkham City and that should fix it.

Having the same problem. It asks for update 1.04 and I hit OK. Then it seems to want to go to the update screen but instead all goes blank and I get three BEEPS and it reboots and taken me back to the XMB.

Any help is appreciated.

I am having the same problem too. I have uninstalled, reinstalled, downloaded updates till I'm sick of it. All it ends with is a black frozen screen... Is there a downloadable update link online so I can put it on a flash drive on the system? My internet at home is as slow as Christmas.
