Re: Looking Back at Arkham City...COMBAT

I liked the beatdown. It made the cape stun more useful and showed what Batman can do to one guy when focused on him. An improvement over Arkham Asylum was that the people with knives and swords don't automatically block attacks, but I can't say I like the blade dodging. The multiple counters was a good addition, but strangely I never found anything that said how to use it. I figured it out of course, but it seemed weird considering everything else would constantly tell me how to use it. I did not like the fact that I couldn't shut off the combat tips. I understand why they're there and to start of with them is fine, but there should be an option to shut them off.

I Love the Takedowns....Ground, Ledge and Silent. Plus the counters were awesome as well and hope to see new ones in Arkham 3 next year

Yeah, the uh, "Feet First" takedown, although rarely used by me, I loved.

Re: Looking Back at Arkham City...COMBAT

What I Liked: Ledge, Silent & Ground Take downs

What I Think Improved: Beat down moves and combos

Favorite Part of Combat: Beatdowns, Ultra Cape Stun, Combat moves

What i didn't like: You could not use multiple counter more Thugs and Assassins with weapons

What could be improved: A chance to enter more criminals hideouts for secrets

What new features i would like to see: The Return of the Multi-Batclaw and Batarangs, Debut Of Red Hood, Red Claw, Temblor, Scarface, Firefly, White Rabbit and Count Vertigo, Detective Vision from Arkham Asylum and City mixed together,
New Cameos from Nightwing, Red Robin, Robin (No Hood), Batgirl, Catwoman and Huntress, New Side missions and DLC.

Re: Looking Back at Arkham City...COMBAT

Combat in both games had its ups and downs. For a big open environment it would only make sense that Batman could fight thugs more easily. The one person I always love to fight is one of the two twins. It would be cool to fight them both.
A hero can be anyone. Even a man doing something as simple and reassuring as putting a coat around a little boy's shoulders to let him know that the world hadn't ended.

    What you liked -
    1. I loved the vastness of the new game. The large area to cover and the amount of requirements
(riddles, side missions, combat, and predator) all were really great.
    2. Easter eggs, 'nuff said.

    What you think improved -
    1. Once the game is over, you can still go back and play. New game plus was a nice bonus.
    2. The boss challenges – I'm glad that there was more variation this time around.

What your favourite part of combat was -
    1. The quick fire weapons
    2. The disarm and destroy feature.

    What you didn't like -
    1. The blade dodge/takedown – never really used it all that much.
    2. The campaigns – Why rehash the same combat and predator challenges that we just went through?
    3. NO FREE ROAM FEATURE FOR NIGHTWING OR ROBIN! I mean, really? Who decided that?

    What could be improved -
    1. Free Roam for all later characters.
    2. Different campaigns than the combat and predator challenges presented in the game.

What new features you would like to see -
    1. A separate section to practice or replay each boss challenge.
    2. Once a fight is over; an instant replay button to highlight your best moves.
I mean we already have a stat sheet. I think this would be the next logical progression.
    3. Dare I say it... Multi-play.

Any Arkham Asylum/Arkham City comparisons -
    1. Bring back the “Throw” feature from Arkham Asylum
    2. Bring back the crazy nut-jobs that jump on your back and try to kill you
    3. Bring back the 3-prong bat-claw, and the ability to use more than one bat-a-rang.

This is about combat, not the entire game.

Yes, a large part of my response is devoted to combat.

Re: Looking Back at Arkham City...COMBAT

The combat was excellent, vastly improved over asylum, my only issues are how the other characters have no disarm and destroy, and how the campaign maps make you use those "mutators" or whatever they are called, those are the only things that should be changed.
