    plz read urgent

what could be improved is wen u go to finish sumone off wen they are on the ground it takes too long and the enemy hits you and you cannot counter either which is something you people could fix, more diverse combos/special moves, and make it more easier to use gadgets while in combat, and chain combos with gadgets attacks aswell as hand to hand combat. and also i was very disapointed to see that you could not free roam in arkham city with robin or and nightwing that needs to be sorted out the game was good but not perfect. i have many other improvements if you wish to contact me my email is kane.560@hotmail.co.uk

What I like about the combat is the use of the weapons. How you can tap the 1-7 buttons to use them faster. With that said, I'm a bigger fan of the old batman combat system. In the old batman game...if you were just a few inches away from hitting someone, it would miss. On this Batman game, if an enemy swings at you from 20 feet away....they would fly magically across and hit you. "What i didn't like: Guys with shields, and thugs with the electric sticks"- At first I didn't like it but it made you think more instead of just punching everything that came your way. If they weren't in the game...this game would have been way too easy. The lieutenant....walk through the like nothing. Make them some what harder. All I do is attack, when they are about to swing, jump over them and attack. The main thing that bugged me was the combo system. Arkham Asylum, you have to work hard to get 120+ hit combo....In Arkham City, make a 150+ combo is a breeze. Me and my brother would bet on who would get the bigger combo...now....we just could care less now. Love how there are a lot more attackers......that's what I wanted on the first batman.

Re: Looking Back at Arkham City...COMBAT

    • What you liked - I LOVE that the combat system is so fun, whether you're an experienced player from Arkham Asylum or just jumping aboard on Arkham City- the combat remains fun, easy to grasp, and bada--.
    • What you think improved - The flawless motion and transition of move-to-move combat. Everything remains believable within the fight when Batman is taking down a group of 15 or maybe even 20 thugs. It all works very well.
    • What your favourite part of combat was - Double and Triple Takedowns/ Counters. WELL DONE! Honorable mention; the use of Catwoman's whip. This was executing a fierce character at it's best.
    • What you didn't like - Hm... NOTHING! Everything was bigger and better than what was accomplished in Arkham Asylum.
    • What could be improved - Whoever designs and creates these insane moves just keep on doing what you're doing. 6 months later, I still find myself constantly finding new variations of double and triple counters from Batman and Catwoman. IMPRESSED!
    • What new features you would like to see - Batman is a man with a gadget for everything - and we see this everywhere but Arkham games when it comes down to taking down Bane, Solomon Grundy, or just a Titan enhanced thug. I want to see Batman be able to take down an unstoppable, colossal giant with a gadget unique to that villain/ enemy type like what he did to the android- Amazo in "Under the Red Hood". If Catwoman was to return in another game, I would like to see better use of the bolas. They just seemed to be her equivalent of a Batarang. Seeing a thug get properly knotted up around the ankles while you take out his buddies would have been cool here.
    • Any Arkham Asylum/Arkham City comparisons - What amazes me about Arkham City's combat is that everything I wanted to see in a broader sequel to Arkham Asylum was here and exceeded expectations.

one of the reasons why "making a 150+ combo" (something i haven't achieved yet) "is a breeze" is very easy: it's called "Beatdown" :-P . (we didn't have that in "Batman: Arkham Asylum" :-P . otherwise the "get a combo of at least 40x"-trophy would have been easy as pie for me to get).

    you can.

    i've done that.

you just start punching and kicking them (and doing anything else you do in combat. like using your quickfire gadgets), instead of sneaking around and taking them down with silent-takedowns :-P

you're thinking about "The Dark Knight" and "Batman Begins". we don't know how Batman is able to glide in this game. all we know is, he does [and is able to] :-P .

(in "Batman: Vengeance" (as far as i can remember), the "Batman Begins" videogame, and the "Batman Returns" Sega-Genesis game, you can also glide). (but in those games either, it doesn't say how Batman glides. just that, he does :-P [(with his cape)]).

that part sounds like an interesting idea.

too much of that, and it stops being a Batman game.

[you don't see an exaggerated amount of that in "Batman: The Animated Series" or "Batman: Beyond", do you? :-P ].

It may sound like it, but in the end the aesthetic would be the same. I share your view, it's pretty darn close to perfect - In my opinion all I'd add is one-on-one combat support and change it a bit to allow fights to happen in rooms which are not completely wide-open.
you can FreeFlow-Combat any time. you can even FreeFlow-Combat in the "Predator" rooms! (and i'm not talking about [just] the ones in the "Challenge Mode" (or "Riddler's Revenge", as it's called in "Batman: Arkham City"). i'm talking about when you're playing the "campaign").

alot of times, when i get caught by the thugs and they start shooting at me, or "running-and-gunning" (ie. "run and gun") towards me, i just say to myself "the hell with it! :-P " and start beating the cr*p out of them instead of sneaking around and taking them out one by one with silent takedowns.

also, what do you mean by "one-on-one" combat? could you explain that to me [some more] please? because if you mean "take down the bad-guys one by one" (as in "beat the bad-guys/thugs one bad-guy at a time") and/or "FreeFlow-Combat beat-up the bad-guys/thugs one by one, as in, one thug at a time, instead of a group of them all at once", you can do that also in "Batman: Arkham Asylum" AND "Batman: Arkham City". very often, i see only 1 single solitary bad-guy all by his little ol' lonely self, and i beat the cr*p out of him with FreeFlow-Combat instead of with silent takedowns.

or, here's another one: a group of bad-guys is attacking me, but i battle each one one at a time instead of punching one then jumping and punching another and, well you know, "Batman taking down multiple bad guys at the same time [how he would in "Batman Begins" or "The Dark Knight" or any of the "Batman: The Animated Series" cartoons]".
