What I think improved: the whole combat system felt smoother. The variety of moves also improved, I liked the blade dodge takedown, beat down, and the other one (i forget the name) where you run up the thugs body and slam down on it. LOVED the disarm and destroy combo, that was genius. And i loved that the Cape Stun move was actually useful for fighting just regular old thugs, unlike in Arkham Asylum.

My favorite part of combat: like Arkham Asylum, the amazing realism and simplicity of the whole thing.

What I didn't like: the batswarm-combo. It was cheesy and unrealistic. I didn't like the REC and Freeze gadgets for the same reason. I also didn't like how everytime you do a Ground Takedown, even if your standing right over the thug, you jump unrealistically high, it looks weird. I also didn't like the slow-motion camera at the end of each combat session, it's pretty cheesy and I'd prefer to be able to control my own camera.

What could be improved: I'm not sure how this could be improved, but you're Rocksteady, so you can do anything! I don't how unrealistically quick Batman jumps around from a thug on one side of the area to the other, it's almost like he teleports how quickly he moves. I'm not sure how you could improve it...perhaps instead of jumping really fast, he could use the grapnel gun to swing from one side of the area to the other (swooping to a kick-in-the-face). Of course, the player wouldn't actually have to use the grappling button, but when they pressed the Strike button towards a thug at the other end of the area, it would automatically do that.

What new features I'd like to see: environmental damage. e.g. - Batman punches a wall and it crumbles down on top of a thug. And more environmental interaction would be nice too. I loved the wall-counters, but more would be great. For example, Batman could grab a lamppost and swing around it to hit a thug, or grab a loose rock and hit a thug in the face with it. All of this not being a combo, but just regular Strike-button mashing. And although this had more to do with gadgets than combat, gadgets are a part of combat, so I thought I'd throw this in: instead of the explosive gel, I'd like to see the sticky grenade launcher Batman uses in "The Dark Knight" movie (that could open up a whole new range of environmental damage as well: exploding a wall during combat, knocking down a lamppost/sign onto someone, etc.)

That's it for me! Thanks guys for 2 top-notch games! lookin forward to the next one!
lol, Batman jumping from one thug to another is what makes the game fun and gets you easy combos, and using the grapnel gun each time to grapple onto a thug wouldn't fit properly.

Plus robin uses his Zip Kick which is similar to what you want for this game.
You know, the game is too unrealistic right?
I mean Batman can glide using his cape, but as soon as he jumps ten feet in the air to do a ground takedown and jumps across the room to hit a thug, it's gone too far.

Oh, my bad I thought this was the predator thread, I was like " he wants Batman to teleport?" lol

Yea I was thinking this too. Maybe if the fights were in smaller areas with the same amount of thugs. I do agree the "flying" in combat needs fixing. That or we just don't realize that free-flow is more powerful than we think.

I'g gonna stick to calling it free-flow sounds more cool and its fun to say.

" I could really go for some free-flow right now"

    " Hold on a minute I'm in free-flow"

Ok now its beginning to sound like another term for getting high......

What you liked: the amount of variation
What you think improved: the flow
What your favourite part of combat was: multiple take down
What you didn't like: stupid glitches like being hit in mid air of an aireal attack
What could be improved: the stupid glitches and exploding gel in combat
What new features you would like to see: more thug variation

This. Batman doing suddenly leaping towards a grounded thug-that is right in front of him-when he does a ground takedown was one of the few things that bugged me about combat. Reminds me of the way Bruce lee finishes his enemies in a few of his movies. I guess it was done for the sake of balance (ground takedowns give a lot of points) but they should've just given him a more lengthy ground animation or something.

I felt the combat modes were pretty much spot on; although as I suggested on the Predator thread, I wished you were able to somehow use combat combos in the predator sections as well.

they could take the joker fight for some ideas on more free flow, like how the environment can hurt you, like jokers train, add more stuff like environmental hazards you have to dodge, or maybe there are things in the environment you can use to hurt the goons, like quick throwing a batarang at something to fall on a goon, or maybe batclawing a lever to make something hit another goon.

Batman can glide with his cape because, whenever an electrical volt is shot through it, the frame of it stiffens and the cape becomes erect. Can't say the same about jumping ten feet into the air.

And I agree, using the grapnel to swing wouldn't work every time, Rocksteady would have to come up with a better variety. And you could still get easy combos: if you read what I said, all you'd do is click the "Strike" button in the direction of the thug at the other end of the area, and you wouldn't have to worry about anything else.
