The Games for Windows version should download all the patches when you start the game. I'm not sure about this as I don't have the game on the computer I'm using but the BatmanAC.exe (or a file named something like that, the execution file you start the game with) should tell you its version number if you right click on it and click Properties.

The only time GFWL downloaded something for me was after I applied the 1.1 patch. Right-clicking my executable still shows 1.0.0.0 though. WB support was supposed to get back to me regarding this, but that was over a month ago. It would be nice to just verify if I have the latest version running...my game seems to be running well regardless.

All of this could have been prevented if they used SteamWORKs. Easy background download rather than the clunky updates currently being done thanks to awful decision making by the people who chose to use the most infamously terrible DRM in in the industry GFWL.

Arkham City on steam has limited activations, unlike the retail disc version, another good reason to pick up the GOTY, ohh i'd love a bit of Harley dlc news!
I'm considering swapping from nvidia gtx 580 to AMD 7970 (lightning version), i'll have to sacrifice the PhysX cause i don't want a dual setup but what the hey!, and i'm looking at a ssd too for my main drive where the games will be, all for the games ...

If GFWL downloaded something after the 1.1 update it's safe to assume you have the latest version.

It seems to me that the retail disc version has activation limits too considering it has a revoke tool when you uninstall.

I have been playing AC, steam version and there is no option to load or save my game.

With GTX 580 in SLI i can not manage to play this game normal without lagging when i glide or rotate the camera of Batman!!!!
What is the point of my PC which costs 2700 euros and you can't even optimize a game for such a hardware why you get your paychecks because we give it to you of buying the game FIX THE GAME SO WE COULD PLAY IT NORMALLY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
