I'm not sure why all cutscenes are not skippable. The ones I usually want to skip (long, drawn-out tedious ones that I've seen before and don't mind skipping this go 'round) won't let you skip them. I find it hard to believe that there's some reason they need to play all the way through. One could argue that something needs loading and the cutscene gives it time to load "behind the scenes", but I highly doubt it, since the game loads other stuff in other areas and makes you sit through the spinning bat icon fairly often while it loads. Seems like just an oversight to me.

An oversight along the lines of save files that don't work properly.

...and i will download the pirated version that got compressed cut scenes so no stutter there(which i think is not a problem since i've bought your game)...isn't it shamefull that pirates did a better job at fixing a problem than you and they didn't even meant to fix it!!!
First off: there should be no reason why WB/RS isn't more informative about their ****-up than they have been. It's deplorable.
Secondly: threatening to d/l pirated games in the future is never a valid argument with corporate types. You lose all credibility at the outset, regardless of how wronged you think you are. Submitting a tech support request/ticket is the most "helpful" thing you can do (info is at the top of the Technical Support Forum page). Sending an email to WB is just about as "helpful".

The more people submitting problem tickets in clear, succinct dialog is the most effective. Only takes a few minutes...

...then you can come back here and rant!

The general consensus is that the problem is a lack of GPU acceleration, not the processors that can't (and weren't meant to) handle the burden alone. Could be they are trying to fix the problem without having us all redownload gigs of video files, but who knows.

I certainly hope that's not it. I would take the option to redownload gigs of video files in a heartbeat. I could understand that there would be users who wouldn't / couldn't go that route, but if the problem's that easy to fix it'd be nice to at least have the choice available.

Yeah, agreed. I wouldn't be thrilled to have to re-download a good chunk of the game but I'm even less happy not being able to play it at all without horrific stuttering.

strange strange, i had massive stuttering. Logo and cut scenes...

I bought a SSD and did a fresh instal of windows 7. Installed batman arkham city - works like a charm.

hmmm, wasnt the cpu accelerating issue for me i guess...

So has anybody here used the hypothetical "resampled" videos that exist out there with the "underground" copy of the game? I'm obviously not asking anyone to link anything, but I'd be perfectly happy to try to integrate those videos with my legally purchased copy, if that's a thing that is technically possible to do.

Yes, but they do not properly interface with the game or something. If you don't click to skip through at the end of each video when prompted, it will lock up your game. I would much prefer Rocksteady release an alternative set of downsampled videos that don't crash my game, if they can't solve this any other way (and it is certainly looking grim right now...)
