CamptainJACk I really want to try this mod, would you mind PLEASE including information on how to install this AND texmod? Many of us have never even HEARD of texmod, let alone know how to install it or make use of it. Thanks.. By the way, does your skin mod show up in the cutscenes?

He might be busy so i'll try to help. First download texmod, i don't have the link but google should find it easily.

    1. Run Texmod.exe
    2. Click on the Folder under Target Application and set it so it points to your BatmanAC.exe in the Batman Arkham City/Binaries/Win32 folder.
    3. Make Sure Texmod is in Package Mode.
    4. Click the little folder above the red x and point it at your .tpf file that Captain Jack made.
    5. Click Run and the game will start and load the new textures.

    Hope this helps!

Re: MOD: Batman Begins Skin - PC

    Morning,

Thanks WarlordATF for helping Jerren and others with that great step-by-step explanation of how to activate mods with texmod. I will add it to the first post to make things a little easier for everyone. Cheers.

@Vanquished_Void: Sorry, I'm not sure about the steam version's compatibility (I own the retail version). Perhaps other users can confirm if this is indeed the case.

@Jerren: Unfortunately the major cutscenes are pre-rendered, but the in-game cutscenes display the mod fine. There is one instance, however, of a particularly "messy" boss fight where the suit will revert to its original design.

@Fernandojj: Hey that looks familiar... Great video fernandojj, I like it. If you wanted, to keep working on the dark knight skin for these good people and make it awesome that would give me more time to work on some other things. Just let me know.

As for further updates, I will try my best to fix up some of the problems with the "begins" suit, and then start thinking about what I will work on next, but I wasn't really going to go down the request road. That is a long and winding one of sleeplessness and angry clambering and petitions and polls...(shudder) Hopefully the old gang of JD_Method and StalkerUKCG will join in soon with some amazing creations.

Cheers all, enjoy, and just as an aside, thanks SO much to Rocksteady for such an amazing game for PC and consoles alike.

    CJ

    Oh yes, I'm around.

Begins suit looks fantastic, as expected, Jack. Good to see you're back with more mods.

I was working on something the other day actually but I was having some trouble in that I couldn't find the texture to change the cape colour. I was editing the 70s skin, and I couldn't seem to find the texture to change it from light blue. Don't suppose you found any such texture did you Captain?

Oh, and I have the Steam version here. Texmod works fine for me. I'm selecting BatmanAC.exe on Texmod as the Target Application and it works.

What some people could try for their Steam version is renaming "Texmod.exe" to "BatmanAC.exe" and naming the original "BatmanAC.exe" to something else. Then start Arkham City through Steam and it should then load Texmod. From there choose the original "BatmanAC.exe" that you renamed to something else as the Target Application and hopefully that should work.

Re: MOD: Batman Begins Skin - PC

Looking forward to see what you guys come up with. I extracted the begins suit just to see what changes have been made. I may try creating a few suits myself, but i'm far from an artist so its going to take me sometime before i get anything done. I do have a few questions if anyone can answer them

    first,

Did RS switch to DDS textures only or will BMPs still work? For some reason i can't get the Dark Knight Texture to work on low, medium or high settings.

What tool is needed to extract the textures from the game so i can locate suits from the other models?

Is there any good sites you could suggest to learn about modding this version of the unreal engine? The last time i messed with unreal at all was the original Unreal many years ago.

Anyway, Thanks for the Batman Begins Skin, Its Great! I'm so glad we can finally add skins without the DRM messing the game up. They might not know it, but i think they just sold alot of copies of the PC Version by allowing texmod to work!
